Hai Ling, Venture Partner
Mr. Ling is an expert in financial services and merchant development space. He currently serves as Co-President for Asia Pacific at MasterCard, overseeing all of the company’s activities in the region, including sales, business development, business strategy, and relationships with card issuers, merchants and merchant acquirers. Prior to his current role, he was Group Executive, Head of Enterprise Development for MasterCard. Based in London, he oversaw Merchants & Acceptance, Pricing, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Strategy for all international markets outside of North America. Before that, he ran MasterCard’s Greater China business as Division President of Greater China, overseeing all aspects of MasterCard’s operations in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Mr. Ling was previously head of Partnership Business and Co-brand Marketing with the Pacific Credit Card Centre, a joint venture between HSBC and Bank of Communications. He was instrumental in developing and managing merchant partnerships in the areas of co-branded credit cards, installment loans and preferred merchants.
He has also worked with Bank of America and MBNA in the U.S. in Product Development and Customer Insights, where he spearheaded innovation through new products, markets and channels, and leveraged research and development to create insights-driven marketing and product innovation. He also worked in management consulting with Booz Allen & Hamilton and A.T. Kearney in both the U.S. and China.
Mr. Ling graduated from the College of Saint Rose in New York, and obtained his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
